Thespian Films is an Award-winning production company based in London, founded in 2014 by Francesco Gabriele.
Thespian Films has been created with the aim of emphasising the creative role of actors on set by realising narrative films, music videos and commercials with great performances, beautiful images and engaging stories to move, inspire and entertain.
Having built a roster of frequent collaborators and industry contacts over the years, Thespian Films is able to respond to any kind of needs: from low budgets to large scale projects.
Francesco Gabriele is an Award-winning filmmaker based in London. He holds an MA in Directing from the London Film School and is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He also attended acting and directing courses at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, UCLA Film School and LAMDA.
His short film, Italian Miracle, played at over 40 festivals worldwide. It was nominated for Best Comedy and Best International Short at the Oscar & BAFTA Qualifying LA-Shorts Fest and won, among other awards, the Jury Award-Best Short at the Stony Brook Film Festival in New York and achieved international distribution.
In 2017, he directed his first feature-length film, Blue Hollywood. Entirely filmed between London and Los Angeles, it had its UK Premiere at the BT Tower in London as the closing night film of the British Urban Film Festival and it was also screened in numerous festivals in Canada, Italy, Sweden, Bulgaria, Germany, China, Russia and the USA receiving mentions and awards.
Francesco is a member of Directors UK and he is currently working as a Lecturer in Digital Film Production at SAE Institute in Oxford as well as an Associate Lecturer in Screen Acting at St Mary’s University in London while developing his second feature film, Ghost Light, written by Award-winning writer Dan Spurgeon and inspired by 80s Italian horror slasher films.
